Rental Agreement Policy
This page outlines the standard terms that form the digital contract generated for every rental transaction on RentAnything.
1. Role of the Platform
RentAnything is a facilitator only. We provide the tools to create this agreement, but we are NOT a party to it. This agreement is strictly between the Owner (Lessor) and the Renter (Lessee).
2. Agreement Scope
When an Owner accepts a "Rental Request" and a Renter proceeds with booking, a binding agreement is formed directly between the two parties. This agreement includes:
- The specific item(s) being rented.
- The duration of the rental (Start Date & Time to End Date & Time).
- The total rental fee and any applicable security deposit.
2. Item Condition & Use
The Renter acknowledges receiving the item in good working condition (unless preexisting damages are noted at handover) and agrees to return it in the same condition, ordinary wear and tear excepted.
3. Liability & Indemnification
Renter Liability: The Renter assumes all risk of loss, theft, or damage to the item during the rental period. The Renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost if the item is lost or irreparably damaged.
Indemnification: The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Owner and RentAnything from any claims, damages, or injuries arising from the use or misuse of the rented item.
4. Default & Remedies
If the Renter fails to return the item on the due date, the Owner may:
- Charge additional daily rental fees (up to 2x the standard rate).
- Retain the Security Deposit.
- Report the item as stolen to local law enforcement if not returned within 48 hours of the due date without contact.
